Day 10 - Wither Hills

Tuesday
A  day of blue skies and sunshine greets us and we head out to explore the Wither Hills Mountain Bike Park
The park is within easy riding distance of our accommodation and we ride through olive groves alongside a dry creek bed to get there

John makes some delicate adjustments to Julies bike

We ride through dry sheep farming land

Up to the top of the park
Andrew , "The Dark Presence" as Richard calls him, and anyone who has had Andrew on their tail while riding knows what he's talking about, finds a track even further up

I think Jane is looking forward to the downhill portion of this ride

A well deserved lunch at the local garden centre
A different kind of fungi
The group splits after this with some going back to the hotel, some shopping and Andrew and I enjoyed the bike park so much we head back out and do every track it has

Up on the high track looking down on the bike park and the town of Blenheim

After the bike path we follow kilometers of shared tracks that wiggles along the edge of the hills getting us to the other end of town

Julie manages to get us a table at Speight's Ale House for Dinner (this takes a bit of work as it isn't always easy to get a table for 12 people)
Jane admires the Speight's Ale House glasses

Back at the hotel and the crown and the Tiki are returned to the Aussies to be treasured and protected for the next 12 months, Sue deservedly wears the crown for being one of the most incredible women we know, she taught us so many things, there were swimming lessons, yoga lessons, business classes, hairdressing, deportment and language lessons just to mention a few!
Richard receives the Tiki for toughing it out for the day and not complaining after getting a wasp bite on his wrist which swelled quite badly and managing to holiday and work at the same time.
